Hedwell wins, Lee-Anne off the pace
Swedish rising star Caroline Hedwall had a double reason to celebrate when she received her second Ladies European Tour title in five weeks at Finnair Masters at Helsinki.
Rookie 22-year professional shot a final round three under par 68 in bright sunlight, for a total of 54 holes of 202, 11 under par at Helsinki Golf Club.
She entered the final round with a cushion of a sudden, after a six-under 65 on Friday and it proved enough to hold off the challenge of Holland Christel Boeljon, who finished with two shots back on nine under par after a 67.
Hedwall maintained his lead throughout the final lap and victory never looked in doubt, but it takes nothing for granted until it sank the last putt.
It remained a clear on the turn and extended his two-shot lead after rolling in a four-foot birdie on the 14th for par-five.
Hedwall Boeljon and match scores from each other for the last four holes with birdies on the 15th, bogeys on the 16th and birdies on the 17th.
After Boeljon made the last four, Hedwall tapped for a nominal simple to collect the check for 30,000 euros.
She said: "I play pretty well. It was a good day.It was fun. My best day was yesterday. I shot six under and I think that was the key to victory. He put in a good position. I played pretty solid and I knew if I holed a few putts I would have a good score. I'll keep going and hopefully earn a few more wins. "
